What did I learn from Andrew Fezza

This thursday, Andrew Fezza had a exhibition in our school. According to his speech, I knew he was graduated from cheshire academy, and when he left our school, he went to Boston college to study women's wear. He has also been to Europe for a while. Then he went to a company, and he said that was important to him, because he learnt many things from the company, such as how the company works, who are the suppliers, and he also met many good friends in that company. 

I don't like fashion actually, but I did learn something from him from three aspects: not only concentrating on work or study and persisting dream. 

First of all, we should not only concentrate on our study. According to his speech, he said he didn't work all the time, he loved traveling and music. He loved traveling so much, he has been to lots of places, such as France, Italy, Korea. He said the more place he went, more he saw, the more he learnt. For us, we cannot only study, we should do some other things to open our eyes.  In China, we have a principle: Traveling a thousands of miles is better than reading thousands of books. We should experience and learn by traveling. 

Secondly, if we have a dream, we should persist it. I was very curious about his dream, so I asked Andrew when did he start to learn art and when did he have this fashion dream. He answered he started to learn art when he was very young and he dreamed to be a artist. At first, he cannot draw very well, but he didn't give up. A student asked him why did he choose art or fashion as his career, he said art was what he was good at. Even if this job might be harder, this is his dream and what he wanted. He would not give up. I agree with him. We should persist our dreams, even though they are kind of hard or some other people think they are impracticable, we should not give up. Storms cannot stop our way to success! Find a dream, and struggle for it! 

I also like his fashion style, smart and functional. I am really glad to have a such important lesson.

I like the drawings in this book, and I think drawing is very important in this book. Even if it doesn't have any words, it still can express emotion, tone in two ways: drawing expression, drawing actions, drawing a pair of pictures to compare. For example, when the shah was overdrew, he was really sad. And the author drew a crying face and the shah held his crown, not on his head. We understood the shah was overdrew and he felt so sad by watching the drawing only. There is another example. The author drew a pair of pictures, one is after the demonstration, Marjane's neighbors told them they hated the shah. The other one is the neighbors are hat's how the drawing in the book add to the emotion, tone. 

Why are the drawing as important as the words. Because the drawing can express what happened and what was the emotion with the characters more easily and more visually, if we read words, we should imagine the situations, but if they are drawings, we don't have to. For example, on the second page of this book, there is a drawing which described students didn't like to wear veils and they were pl aying jokes with their ve

What reader I am?

What reader i am. 

First of all, I like reading, but I am only a fast reader. It means I don't spend too much time on reading, but I still enjoy reading. 

Second, as a reader, I have my favorite kinds of book, but I don't have a favorite book or author. I really like the kind of book which are special and interesting. For example, I recent read a book which is named my year with Eleanor. It's Chinese name is Don't kiss with sharks, but you should sleep with bravery. When I first saw this book in the book store, I am attracted by this book. I am really interested in what does this name mean. As I expected, this is a interesting book. The author did one thing she was afraid everyday in the past one year, such as kissed sharks in the sea or tried to skydive. 

And the most important thing is I like the books are meaningful. The books have its own meanings. The author wants to express something by writing the story. For example, I like the hunger games, not only because of its excellent story, but also because I am touched by the people in the story thirsts for freedom and their vigorous pursuit of freedom. I don't like the empty books, some novels are so empty that when I finished I don't know what does it mean. For example, I don't like Guo Jingming who is a Chinese author. I ever read several books written by him. They are not only empty, but also full of wrong values, such as money worship. 

I also want to introduce my way to read books. I'd like to read books by Kindle Paperwhite. I am a very lazy person, and Kindle is really convenient. For example, when we have some words we don't know, just touch the words, it will tell us what do they mean. We don't have to check the big dictionary any more.

It is a Chinese song, and I listen it again and again, because it resonates me. The singer wrote this song for his ex-girlfriend, and the star might be his love, but I'd love to think it of a song of dreams, and the star is the dream. "When I cannot find my meaningful existence or lost my way in the darkness, the brightest star in the night sky, please light my way. "I think this means the direction of the dreams have many difficulties and troubles, but we should still believe in dreams, it can strength our convictions, then pull through. "I would rather suffer all the pains or hurts than forgetting your eyes. I think it means even if there are many difficulties, I won't give up my dreams. I like it, not only because of the beautiful melody, but also because it can resonates me. I study abroad and be far away from my families and friends also for my dreams. There are many difficulties for me, like loneliness or the language problems, but I believe I can go through it and then touch my dreams. The brightest star in the night sky, please light my way.

This song is also a Chinese song. This song says it is good to be a ordinary person, just follow our hearts, and I really agree with that. This singer was really famous before, but he chose to retire, just like the lyrics said. "I stepped across the mountains and seas and go through a sea of mountains. ""I had everything before, and I destroyed everything just want to go far away. " Nowadays, more and more people say "success means high prestige or position and rich. I don't think so, I think everyone has his own ambition and success, it might be big or small, so just follow our hearts, do what we really want to do.

This song is written for gays and lesbians. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis use a relaxing rhythm to talk about a really serious topic. I really like the melody or rhythm and the most important reason is I like this relaxing way to say gays or lesbians should not be discriminated. I also really agree with that, though I am not a lesbian. "And god loves all his children, is some how forgotten, but we paraphrase a book written thirty-five-hundred years ago, I don't know. " When I first read this, I just feel so sad and heartbroken for gays and lesbians. I ever saw a video about some people hate and abuse them, I think that is really bad. There is nothing wrong for gays or lesbians to love who they love, so just accept them and respect them. "No freedom till we’re equal, damn right I support it"

Goals: 

1, I want to have the ability which I can talk to others really good and fluently. 

2, Of course I want to get a great grades in this class. 

3, I want to improve my reading ability by reading and appreciating the poem and novel in the class.

I like this line and agree with that. Life can't be perfect, and there must be something we hate. Even if we don't like it, it still here, so we should learn to love it, at least don't be sad, just let it go. Happy or not happy is our choices.

What makes our community more positive and effective?

First of all, we should be respectful. Listening to each others, and talking to partners patient. Second, everyone in this group should follow the rules, because if someone break the rules, we may spend time in telling him the rules, that's really not effective! And everybody in the class should open minds. Try our best to think and answer the questions the teacher asked. And we should also find some questions of the homework and ourself, then don't be afraid to ask the teachers. The most important thing is we should cooperate to each other. If we don't know how to cooperate and just do what we want to do, don't consider the team work, we may do some redundant things, then we will waste time. That's not effective either. At last, everybody also should has a positive attitude. A person can affect others, so if one person hold a positive attitude, the others in the community will be affected, and to be more positive. That's why we should have positive attitudes.
